Z93 Radio Station

Z93 is a radio station out of LaCrosse. Jessica had the opportunity to interview with them, and here is a recap that her mom, Sharon, sent to me!

"When Z93 called this morning and Jess told me how much, she kept on talking about what all was said. Two minutes later I asked how much? She told me again. I just sat there. She went to change. All of a sudden she came out of her room in her underwear and said did I say $500.00? I said yes and she just stood there with her mouth open and said she must have heard wrong. Then at 9 she and Jamie heard it on the radio."

Very generous, Thank you Z93!

WKBT Comes Thru Again

Here is the link to the story from WKBT Channel 8 out of LaCrosse, WI!

They do a little bragging about their 2nd place trophy - well deserved if you ask me!

I received an email from WKBT telling me that the 2nd place trophy is "proudly on display in our sports department" (so I'm thinking they had fun too)...

http://www.wkbt.com/global/story.asp?s=8541370

"Because of the genorosity of her community, Melrose-Mindoro's Jessica Hubbard will be able to run in this summer's U.S. Transplant Games.

You may remember our story with Jessica from this past fall. She received a successful kidney transplant from her father at the age of eight.

Now, she's a successful runner in high school. She's going to be able to compete in the National Transplant Games because of a benefit for her Saturday at Melrose-Mindoro High School.

A kick-ball tournament, along with a run-walk and auction raised $3,000.

NewsChannel 8 had a kickball team for the benefit, with a team name "Kickball You Can Count On".

They all said they had a great time as well as bringing home a second place trophy."

It Came, It Went, and it was FUN!!

The benefit was a success - special thanks to Tina Braun for organizing such a great event. Also thanks to all those that helped out during the day, without all of you it would not have been so successful!!

With the efforts of everyone involved, we were able to raise over $3000 Saturday! Again thanks to everyone.

I will post again with more details, a few words from Jessica and photos so stay tuned...just wanted to give a quick update to all of Jessica's supporters.
