...and we're down to months in the countdown to the transplant games!
Jessica and her family are planning a trip to Madison for an informational meeting in the next month so I'm hoping that we'll have lots more information.
Not only are the transplant games coming, but Jessica is busy getting ready for graduation and applying for college. What happened to my "little" niece?!
I'm sure the next few months will fly by for her and I'm looking forward to it!
Quote From the National Transplant Games Website: "The Games is the only national athletic competition for recipients of all life-saving organ transplants, as well as the largest gathering of transplant recipients and donor families in the world." I created this blog to keep you all in the loop regarding Jessica's journey and to help you be a part of it!

Jessica Speaks
Message from Jessica:
"YESSSS I will be graduating but dont worry mommy and daddy i will still ask for money haha!
I am so thrilled for the transplant games this year especially now that they are in Madison! It seems like just this summer that we all traveled to Pittsburg for the games. I hope the transplant games in Madison will be just as fun, even though we all know they will be better because they are in Wisconsin! Haha no offense to the other states, we are just that great.
Well back to studying for my great classes, hope to see you all soon"

Where does the time go...
It's been over a year since I've posted - so sorry, but you know what that means...the transplant games in Madison are under a year away!!!
Jessica is starting her senior year in high school next week - she has been busy working and playing all summer. Now its back to studies and of course school sports. She should have a busy year coming up. I'm sure she's excited to graduate, but of course, I think she is growing up too fast!!!
More to come - hopefully soon.

if you know what Jessica's friends, mom, and grandparents look like you can catch a glimpse of them in the slideshow of the opening ceremonies!! You can see Jessica's dad & grandparents at the 5k and Jessica running. Finally, there is also a picture of Jessica receiving her gold medal after the 5k run.

Finally an Update!
Sorry for the delay, but I was away on a much needed vacation. For those that have been patiently waiting, here are a few words from Jessica:
"Thank you to every one that came and donated at the benefit. I had a blast!!
The fun run was more than fun, and even better is that my cousin Shaun came in first overall.
The kickball tournament was also a lot of fun, even though my team came in last place, but congratulations to the Parents team for winning first place, way to kick!!!
The benefit raised over $3,000, thank you everyone.
The food tasted great, thanks to the help of my employer at the L&M Cafe, Martha Rommel, for making some of the food.
Also thank you to the Melrose Satellites 4-H club, which I am proudly apart of, for working the concession stand.
Thank you to all my friends and family who helped out in any way to make this benefit possible.
And a special thanks to Tina Braun, without her there is no way that the benefit could have gone on. I had a great time and I hope that everyone else did as well.
Jessica"
